Collecting Cutch has one of the most impressive player collections out there and I have a hard time believing anyone out there has a better Andrew McCutchen collection!
He showed off his top 10 McCutchen cards and is holding a contest for the rest of the blogosphere to show off the top 10 cards of their favorite player.
Most of you know that my main PC is Paul Goldschmidt, so here are my top 10.
#1) 2011 Topps Update RC Gold Parallel - I don't think this will ever reach the same status as the Trout RC from the same set, but I am extremely happy to have this gold parallel in my collection.
#2) 2011 Bowman Sterling RC Green Parallel - The green parallel is numbered out of 199. To tell the truth, I'd rather have the base card. Well, I'd love to have the gold version numbered to 50, but I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon. In the meantime, I'm very happy to have this card in my collection.
#3) 2015 Topps Chrome Gallery of Greats Gold Parallel - Speaking of gold parallels numbered to 50. Here is a nice one. I really love gold parallels of Goldschmidt cards and the fact that most gold parallels are numbered to 50 makes it even better.
#4) Five Star - I couldn't pick just one Five Star card for the list. I love all the autos and the base card is numbered to just 75, so it's harder to find than most of the autos.
#5) 2013 Topps Triple Threads - I have several versions of this card, but this is my favorite and the fact that I bought it off ebay for less than $8 shipped makes it stand out even more.
#6) 2015 Topps Triple Threads - The first card is nice, but when I saw the patch version I fell in love.
#7) 2014 Allen & Ginter Box Topper - This over-sized card has a piece of jersey and is hand numbered to 25. I need to have Goldy sign it.
#8) 2015 Museum Collection - Many of these quad cards feature only one patch, but this one has four fantastic patches.
#9) 2014 National Treasures Booklet - I normally stay away from unlicensed stuff, but I couldn't pass up #9 and #10. I think this booklet features most of the O and part of the L from GOLDSCHMIDT, but I suppose I'll never know for sure.
#10) 2015 National Treasures Treasured Material Button Card - I got this card for free. I got an email from ebay where if I sold 5 items within a certain time frame I would get a $50 credit. I made a best offer and it was accepted and ended up with this beauty.
That is a great collection of Goldschmidt cards. I love his game, and I hope that he can keep it up as his 30s approach. So far, so good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian! I'm hopeful he can keep it up as well. I also hope the D-Backs will be able to keep him.
DeleteI know the A&G box topper is a one-color, but that basic, classy design and image make it my favorite from your list.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I like that one a lot. I do want to try to get him to sign it in blue sharpie. I think it would love fantastic!
DeleteAwesome cards. Thanks for getting the cards posted for the contest.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the contest! Fun to take a look at all my Goldy cards and pick out my favorites!
DeleteDamn... that's a sweet collection of Goldschmidt. I own the 2013 Five Star autograph. It's one of my favorite autographed sets of the past decade.
ReplyDeleteThanks! The autographs from Five Star are fantastic! 2013 are my favorite as well!
