A section..."Strata" is rooted in geology. A section of horizontal bedrock is sometimes (often in some places) as the strata of a certain region or area. Stratigraphy is the study of these strata, how they relate to one another, the processes which laid them, and their depiction in a 2-D setting (like a cross-section.) <br /><br />To me, it never really made sense with these cards, as the "strata" is just a layer of plastic over the relic, and all cards are produced in this strata-esque process.
