2010 Mark Reynolds Bobblehead and a question for the Blogosphere

I picked up this 2010 Mark Reynolds bobblehead on ebay on Friday and got it today since the seller was local.

I would love to know the story behind this bobblehead because as far as D-Backs bobbleheads go, it's pretty rare.

Reynolds had a bobblehead in 2009 as well that is readily available on ebay and other avenues for $15 -$20. This 2010 version rarely pops up on ebay and is always in the $35 - $40 range when it does. I hate spending that much on bobbleheads so I put off getting it on ebay and instead tried to find it in card shops, craigslist. antique shops, yard sales, Goodwill, Facebook groups, etc.

I finally bit the bullet and picked this on up for just under $32 shipped.

The last D-Backs bobblehead I need is one from this season. It's a Hello Kitty Diamondbacks Bobblehead. It's another one that goes in the $30 - $40 and I'm having a hard time spending that much on something that is Hello Kitty.

My question is, should I consider it a must for my Diamondbacks bobblehead collection. Up until today, I said yes. It's a bobblehead that was given away at a Diamondbacks game, so I had to have it for my collection to be complete. But today I was looking at the Diamondbacks Bobble World web site and they don't even list the Hello Kitty bobblehead there.

So what do you think, do I need to have the Hello Kitty bobblehead or is my collection now complete? let me know what you think?

  1. If Hello Kitty were actually an Arizona mascot and not just a cartoon character, I'd say include it. But, since it's not and it was just a bald attempt to get people who otherwise wouldn't come to the game in the stands, I say nope, not necessary.

  2. I would say yes! You have gone this far and gotten them all so why not complete the set

  3. until Kitty suits up at second base, you don't need the bobblehead.

  4. I would skip it because it has no real connection to the D-Backs, or even baseball.

  5. The Pirates have had similar releases like that where prices have skyrocketed over the years. A Charlie Brown and Snoopy regularly sell on eBay between $50-70. Another rare one is an Arnold Palmer that sometimes goes for even more.

I think I'm in the camp that it has nothing to do with the team so I wouldn't feel obligated. I understand the completion aspect of things but would you really want to display Hello Kitty in between Mark Reynolds and Paul Goldschmidt.

    1. Plus, how could you tell Mark Reynolds and Hello Kitty apart?

  6. Throw it on the back burner and I bet you'll find one at a good price eventually.

  8. Hi. What did you find out about the Mark Reynolds Bobblehead above? I picked one up at an estate sale and couldn't find out a history either. Any insight would be appreciated.
