If you read my post yesterday and you remember that I'm trying to focus my collecting, you might be wondering why I bought a vintage New York Yankee lot.
Here's the main reason I bought it. A 1958 World Series Batting Foes card featuring Mickey Mantle and Hank Aaron.
A Hank Aaron card that I need for my Topps Hank Aaron collection. With Hank Aaron sharing this card with Mickey Mantle I knew it would be a pricey card to obtain, so I was more than willing to add it to my collection in this condition. Maybe someday I'll upgrade, but for now I'll love every crease!
Damn. That's one fantastic piece of cardboard. Looks exactly how I'd imagine a 1958 Topps World Series Batting Foes card looks like in my head.
ReplyDeleteWow, just wow..what a beautiful card! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteIf I found that card in my bed eating crackers, I promise I wouldn't kick it out.
ReplyDeleteThat card is beautiful. I have one myself and it's one of my favorite cards in my entire collection.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card. I love all the stadium bunting in the background. Congrats on the new addition!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I feel that card just needs to be well loved and creased.
ReplyDeleteExcellent pickup!
