Mystery Pack from Ricky Russo

Ricky Russo offered up mystery packs recently and I picked one up. $29 shipped. He offered all four major sports, but I went with baseball.

Here is what I ended up with. A nice variety of old and new players.

An unexpected package from Hot Corner Cards

Pat, of the blog Hot Corner Cards, surprised me with a box of awesome D-Backs cards, a ton of 2015 Topps cards off my list, and a few other great cards! Thank you so much Pat!

Apparently Pat has a knack for pulling Diamondbacks cards! I love how the photo on the card matches what he has written.

Here are just a couple of the D-Backs cards that Pat sent, which also included a Patrick Corbin chipz.

Notice that it's the same photo, just cropped.

I love everything Goldschmidt, but this was really nice. I don't have many relic cards of Goldy. He just doesn't have many. Most of them are relic/auto combos. Thanks Pat!

Pat sent a couple of cards for my Cards Featuring Awards collection.

Pat also sent a Ryan Roberts card. I really need to get a little more organized when it comes to my Roberts collection. There are a few lower end cards that I still need to get. I just need a good checklist.

Again, thanks Pat for the awesome, unexpected package!

Catching Up

It's been about a week since my last post and I've got some catching up to do.

I'm going to break this post up into three parts: Goldschmidt, Ricky Russo, and TTMs.

Goldschmidt - Here are two recent ebay pick-ups for my Paul Goldschmidt collection.

Ricky Russo - Ricky is one of the most generous YouTubers out there and his videos are a lot of fun to watch because of his personality. He breaks a lot of high end boxes from all the major sports. He's had a couple of contests that I've won recently (He usually picks 10-12 winners.) He also sent me a Panini redemption code just because.

TTMs - These were all sent out the same day, about 2 and a half weeks ago and they all came back this past week.

The 40th Anniversary of #715

40 years ago today, April 8, 1974, Hank Aaron hit career home run number 715 to break Babe Ruth's record and become Major League Baseball's all-time leader in home runs. Topps made this card in 1994 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the event. Personally, I think Topps did a great job with the card!

Contest Win and a Trade with Baseball Card Breakdown

Gavin, of the blog Baseball Card Breakdown, recently held a contest and I was one of the winners. I got to pick two of the magnet cards that Gavin designed and had made. Here are the two that I picked.

They are awesome! Thank you so much Gavin!

Since Griffey is my all-time favorite player, I had to go with two Griffey magnet cards. I love the 1989 Fleer/Upper Deck mash-up card and love that Gavin's blog name is incorporated into the magnet.

This 1992 Topps inspired Griffey Jr. card shows a bunch kids from Springfield including Bart, Ralphie, and Milhouse. If only Junior could have stayed away from the Brain and Nerve Tonic.

Gavin and I discussed a trade as well. I'll get some cards out to you soon Gavin. Thanks!

Here is a sampling of what Gavin sent including this Dandruff Dan Garbage Pail Kids card.

Gavin also sent some of my 2015 Topps needs.

Here is a near complete D-Back team set from 2015 Heritage. I think only the SPs are missing.

There was also a nice stack of Gyspy Queen...

...Bowman...

...and Ovation.

There was also a nice assortment of Chris Owings cards! I'm excited to see what kind of numbers Owings will put up this season!

Mardi Gras beads and more from The Junior Junkie

T.J., of the blog The Junior Junkie, sent me a package recently....along with roughly 59 other people. I need to send out about 5 packages (one is to T.J.)  and I can't seem to find the time to find all the cards I want to send, so I tip my cap to you T.J.

T.J. sent my some Mardi Gras beads and I didn't even have to lift my shirt. Someday I hope to make it out for Mardi Gras. Until then, these beads are as close as I get.

Oh...and T.J....I can use everything you sent! Thanks so much!

Here is a sampling of what he sent.

First up are three awesome Paul Goldschmidt cards!

Next up are a couple of Miguel Montero First Year Bowman cards. The paper and the chrome versions.

T. J. sent a couple of autographed cards. First up is a J.D. Closser. I'd love to know where this card came from T.J. Did you get it in person? TTM?

There was also an autographed Panini Prizm card of Tyler Skaggs. I was sad to see Skaggs leave AZ. My son and I were at his MLB debut.

Here are a few early to mid 2000's inserts, parallels, and rookie cards.

I'm going to finish off this post with a couple of  awesome Travis Lee cards.
