Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope everyone has a fantastic day and hopefully you find a few baseball cards in your baskets.

No baseball cards in my basket, but that's because I don't have a basket. I did however treat myself to this card yesterday.

I stopped by my LCS yesterday and saw this card in one of the cases with a $60 price tag. My LCS is a co-op, so I asked the owner of the shop if he would check to see if the owner of the card would take $50 for it. He sent a text and within about 10 minutes he got the okay from the owner.

I tend to stay away from anything unlicensed for the most part, but cards like this one have really opened my eyes. Panini has gotten so much better at photo placement that you can barely notice the lack of logos.

Even though it's not autographed, to me this has the look of Topps Dynasty. This card would have been $200+ if Topps made it. I got it for a quarter of the price. I'm going to abandon Topps for the time being and focus only on Panini from now on.

  1. I think that's a case where the quality of relics override the lack of logo.

  2. Panini has been making some really nice cards both in Flawless and Immaculate. National Treasures has always been a favorite of mine, but the past few years haven't been as good.

That's a great price for the card and Happy Easter buddy.

  3. Happy Easter to you too! Congratulations on getting such a great looking card :)

  4. That's a fantastic card; I just noticed it's a one of one. You're right about the photos hiding the lack of logo. Then again, those patches take up a lot of real estate.

Congrats on adding this to your collection!

  5. Even the Easter Bunny would be impressed by those patches.

  6. "I'm going to abandon Topps for the time being and focus only on Panini from now on."

You can't fool us Dan, we know what day it is.

In all seriousness congrats on the awesome card.
