I can't remember the card I was looking for on COMC when one of these popped up, or which card it was that popped up, but I quickly changed the search to find the rest of the cards in the 2010 Topps Tribute Greatest Rivalries Revisited subset and grabbed all 10.
What do you think about this subset? Which card is your favorite? Any rivalries that are missing?
I'm a little surprised Obama/McCain made it and I'm surprised their isn't one sports rivalry. Knowing Topps as well all do, they missed a golden opportunity for a Yankees vs. Red Sox card.
ReplyDeleteOther Rivalries... Bud Light vs. Miller Lite... Coke vs. Pepsi... Chevy vs. Ford.
Yeah I was a little surprised about Obama and McCain as well. Must have just been because it was current. Good suggestions for other rivalries!
DeleteI have a few of these. They're oddly neat. My favorite is probably the Montagues/Capulets because I'm a sucker for literary references on baseball cards.
ReplyDeleteThey were so different that I just had to get them, especially since they were relatively cheap. I got the Montagues/Capulets card for 43 cents and that wasn't even the cheapest. The most expensive was the Kennedy/Nixon card at $1.35.
DeleteGreat cards, I think I have seen the Tortoise and Hare but otherwise these are new to me. My favorite is the USA vs. USSR.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't seen any of them prior to coming across them on COMC.
DeleteI simply love these cards!
ReplyDeleteThat was my reaction when I first saw them and I had to pick them up.
