TTM Tuesday: Actor & Radio Personality

I still haven't sent out any ttm requests in 2018. I need to get on that, but every once in a while I'll get a return back.

Here are two I received back recently. Both are sports related, but aren't athletes.

First up is actor Robert Wuhl on a 2016 Topps Archives Bull Durham card.

Next is Mike Greenberg. Greeny spent 19 years as the co-host of ESPN's Mike & Mike radio and television show.

TTM Thursday

I haven't sent out many ttm requests recently, so I haven't gotten many back recently. I did send out a one recently to Dave Dravecky and got it back earlier this week.

Dave had a great career and is an even better person. Very happy to add these to my collection!

TTM Tuesday: Peyton Manning

I don't always send NFL ttms, but when I do it's to a Manning.

Not sure how long this request was out, but it was a while. I got it back from his Foundation with a small donation.

This is my second time getting Peyton back ttm. I've also gotten returns from Archie and Eli.

TTM Tuesday

I haven't gotten a lot of ttms recently, but I am really happy with the two that have come in over the past few weeks.

I sent Brooks Robinson two cards and a few index cards as well as a donation.

He signed both cards and added the "HOF 83" inscription.

The turned out great!

I asked that he personalize each index card to my boys and add his nickname "Human Vacuum Cleaner" and he did!

My second return was a 4 x 6 photo that I had gotten signed earlier this year by Buck Showalter. I sent it to Jason Alexander (George from Seinfeld) and he signed it as well. If you remember, George worked for the Yankees during a couple of seasons of the hit tv show.

TTM Tuesday (Manning, but which one?)

Only one TTM autograph this past week. It's a good one though.

Eli Manning.

This card came from a dime box at my LCS and I sent it out on 1/26 and got it back on 3/10.

TTM Tuesday: (Doerr and Virdon)

I got two returns back this past week.

This 2013 Allen & Ginter card of Boston Red Sox and Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr came back in about a month and a half.

Doerr was born April 7, 1918. He will turn 99 years old next month and is currently the oldest living Major League baseball player.

I also got a two card return from Bill Virdon. Virdon was the 1955 Rookie of the Year winner with the St. Louis Cardinals and won a World Series as a member of the 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates. He also managed 4 different clubs over a 13 year period (1972 - 1984), twice winning Manager of the Year.

I didn't realize it until writing this post, but the two cards I sent are from his first year as a manager and his last.

TTM Tuesday

These all came in on the same day last week. There are a couple of baseball returns and a couple of entertainment returns as well.

First up is Hall of Fame closer Rick "Goose" Gossage.

Next up is another closer from the same general time period as Gossage. Al "The Mad Hungarian" Hrabosky.

I sent the first two photos and she included the third. This is Margaret Kerry. She was the human model used for Tinker Bell for the Peter Pan film.

Finally, I sent an email request and got back a signed photo from Pat Sajak and Vanna White of Wheel of Fortune.

TTM Success: Steve Garvey

This was a recent TTM success for my 2003 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites project. You can see some of my other cards from that set here.

Doesn't look much like Steve or Garvey and I'm not sure why he always signs sideways, but it's still a nice success.

TTM Success: Tony LaRussa

I got this TTM back from Tony LaRussa a couple of weeks ago.

I got him in person this past season on a baseball before one of the D-Backs games, but I saw that he was signing ttm so I sent him two cards.

This is the only one I got back and he signed it sideways and super small, but I was still really happy to get it back!

TTM Success: Bud Selig

I accidentally picked up a 2013 blaster of Allen & Ginter. I thought is was 2014. One of the cards I pulled was a base card of Bud Selig. I sent it off to the Commissioner to get signed. I got it back last week. Not sure when I sent it off, but it was probably some time in late July or early August.

TTM Success: Goose Gossage

I sent this card out to Hall of Famer Goose Gossage on July 17th and got it back signed on August 2nd. Goose has a great looking signature and I love these 2003 Topps All-Time Fan Favorite cards!

TTM Success: Brad Ziegler

I sent 5 cards to D-Backs reliever Brad Ziegler on July 17th and got back 4 cards signed on August 1st. Most of you probably know, but Brad is a huge card collector. He personalized one cards and added Bible verses on all the cards. I'm can;t remember what the 5th card was that I sent him. I think it might have been another 2014 Bowman card. Thanks Brad!

TTM Project Update

I'm all caught up on my ttm posts and it's actually been a while since I got a ttm request back in the mail. I got my last request back on 3/19/12, so it's been about two weeks since my last success. I thought I'd provide a ttm recap for the First Quarter of 2012. Since January 1, 2012 I've sent 39 different ttm requests to 38 different people (I sent to Stan Musial twice). I've received 23 returns. 21 successes and 2 failures (both were Musial). That means I still have 16 requests out there. I've gotten a total of 34 items signed (33 cards and one book plate) from 21 different people. My goal for 2012 was 50 autographs from at least 30 different people. At my current pace I am on track to get 132 autographs from 84 people. It will be difficult to keep that pace throughout the rest of the year, but I'll give it a shot. Here are a few of my favorites from the First Quarter of 2012.
