Don Mossi

Born this day in 1930, Donald Louis Mossi turns 86 years old today. Not sure when it started, but I think I started a Don Mossi collection.

Mossi had a nice career, playing from 1954 to 1965 for the Indians, Tigers, White Sox, and Athletics. He was an All-Star in 1957 while with the Cleveland Indians.

Here is a 1956 Topps card that I picked up recently.

Anyone else ever accidentally start a collection of someone?

  1. All the time! As I go through all of my dupes, if I find I have enough cards of a certain player, I will start a PC. The first player I did this with was Carney Lansford.

  2. Guilty. Exhibit A: Brooks Kieschnick. Exhibit B: Starlin Castro.

    1. Kieschnick used to be such a big prospect if I remember correctly. Very cool!

  5. Man oh man... how I love me some Mossi. Gotta find a copy of this card for my collection of 56's. As for an accidental PC... can't think of a specific person, but my Damaged Card PC started after realizing how many damaged cards I owned.

    1. Your Damaged PC card binder is a great idea. I was going through my Mike Piazza cards a while ago and came across several damaged or miscut ones and I hate to just toss them, so I'll have to start something similar.
