#ebayfail

I mentioned a few posts back that I was waiting on some recent ebay purchases. Well today I got them both in the mail. One came in a pwe, but I'll show that one later.

The other came in a nice bubble mailer and I could tell it had extra padding inside. I had opened the pwe first, so I knew what was in the bubble mailer. It was a nice 4 card lot of Paul Goldschmidt. Or at least it was supposed to be a nice 4 card lot of Paul Goldschmidt.

The seller ended up sending me two 2015 Bowman's Best rookie autos instead. I messaged the seller and he apologized and said he must have put the wrong labels on the packages. He said he would contact the other buyer and "hopefully get it all sorted out". Uh, yeah, you had better get it sorted out.

What has been your worst ebay experience?

  2. Not that long ago I bought a 2010 Topps UFC Ryan Bader Onyx autograph, not rare but it is #/88 and they don't show up for auction to often. The guy shipped me the base version so I contacted him and he said he put the wrong one in the mailer and said he would send the correct one the next day. Over the next two weeks he told me twice that he forgot to mail it out and would do it soon, once even saying he was heading out to the post office right after sending me the email.

I waited another week and after it didn't show up i contacted him again. His response was "File a complaint against me, I am not going to respond to you anymore." I did file a complaint and got my money back and left negative feedback.

  3. I've been pretty lucky over the years with eBay. Most of my issues stem from poor packaging. I'm hoping it works out for you. Goldy > Common Bowman Best autos.....

    1. Thanks! Yeah I am really hoping I get the Goldy cards. The seller messaged me this morning and said he hasn't heard from the other buyer.

  4. I had a 1/1 McCutchen that got stuck in the sorting machine. The top loader took a lot of the beating, but it still showed a heavy crease.

  5. I once paid $45 for a Five Star Kershaw base card. Worst part... 100% my fault.

    1. Yikes. Five Star base cards can be pricey, but that's rough when you think you're getting an auto. That happened to me one with a Harmon Killebrew card. But it wasn't close to that much.

  6. Well if he let's you keep the Margot auto, I'd be interested in trading you for it. But good luck getting it worked out!

    1. Looks like it's going to get sorted out. The seller sent me a pre-paid shipping label and I sent them back. The sad part is that he is going to spend way more on shipping than I paid for the 4 card lot.
