What's better than a dime box?

One of my local card shops has a case that has cards for 7 cents each. 3 cents less than the dime box. There are a lot of cards to sort through, but I was able to find some good stuff.

I have a hard time passing up cheap cards of my all-time favorite player even if I know I already have it.

I have a ton of SP Authentic cards of various players, but when I saw this I fell in love with the photograph, plus it works for my

Here are a couple of nice career tribute cards of Mike Schmidt celebrating his enshrinement into the Hall of Fame.

I like that Upper Deck used two different photographs.

Speaking of Hall of Famers...here are a few more that I couldn't pass up at just 7 cents.

Here are some cards of one of the newest Hall of Famers that came from the 7 cent case.

Here a couple cards of some future Hall of Famers.

I left this one smaller because it's a mini.

And when I say mini...I mean mini. Check it out next to a regular size card.

Here are a few cards of players that I collect.

The last card is a nice looking RC of a solid player. Well, it's not really a RC, but it does have a Rookie logo on it. Did you know that Soriano played in Japan prior to playing in the majors?

There you have it. Let me know what you think about these 7 cent cards.

  1. You blew my mind with the very first sentence. All I could do was stare at the pretty pictures after that.

  2. Very nice. My LCS refuses to sell anything, including junk wax commons, for less than a quarter and asks more than book value before letting you talk him down to book value. Very frustrating.

    1. That's crazy! One of the card shops close by was sort of like that. he would only sell you things if it was exactly at a dollar. So it could be 4/$1, but he wouldn't do it is you only wanted 1, 2, or 3.

  5. I can't believe that anyone has a 7cent box and that there are cards like this available at that price. Really nice haul!

    1. The card shop is a co-op, so different dealers have different cases and when this guy started putting in stacks and stacks of cards at 7 cents each, I was really excited.

  6. Wow. 7¢ Chipper Jones micro rookie? What is our hobby world coming to? Sweet find. The Gold Medallion Rickey isn't too shabby either.

    1. Is pretty off centered. I think I was generous when I cropped the photo and it doesn't look that bad, but yeah I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the case.
