Contest Winning from Play at the Plate

Brian, of the blog Play at the Plate, held a contest a few weeks back and I won. He sent a nice package of D-Backs goodnes and two packs of 2012 Gypsy Queen. I'm going to show the D-Backs today and I'll show the Gypsy Queen tomorrow. The first 3 cards are numbered and the last 6 are all minis of one kind or another. He sent a few other cards as well. I didn't have any of the 2012 Topps stickers, so those are cool and I've almost bought the Roberts for my Roberts player collection, so I'm glad I hadn't yet. I already have one of the Upton stickers so I will have a happy kid because both my boys are starting to collect Justin Upton, so that's perfect! And the Gyspy Queen minis are really sweet! Thanks Brian!

Bobblehead and Autographed Baseball

Here are the J.J. Putz Bobblehead and the Paul Goldschmidt Autographed Baseball that I got last night at the Diamondbacks game! Thanks again to Joe and Erika for the tickets and the baseball!

In today's game, which the D-Backs won as well, Goldschmidt crushed a 471-foot home run!

My family and I got to go to the D-Backs game tonight. We got there 2+ hours early to ensure that we got the J.J. Putz bobbleheads. Friends had given me the tickets and we ended up seeing them at the game. They had gotten to go on the field for batting practice and got me Paul Goldschmidt's autograph on an OMLB! It was so nice of them! The game was fantastic! My 2 older boys had a great time and are really starting to love baseball! He wasn't perfect, but we couldn't have asked for our 6 month old to be any better! The D-Backs won 8-5 and Putz got the save. I'll show the bobblehead and the Goldschmidt auto tomorrow. Below is a 2012 Topps Justin Upton Diamond Die Cut card that I got today in the mail from eBay. The card is really shiney and a lot thicker than I expected.

I got this in today from eBay. It's a 2012 Bowman Mguel Montero Red Ice Parallel numbered to 25. Not the most flattering picture of Miggy if you ask me, but the red border does look great on these cards.

This came in the mail today. It's a 2012 Bowman Trevor Cahill Red Ice Parallel numbered to 25. This is the third one that I have gotten in. I have another on it's way. I still need to pick up Upton, Goldschmidt, and Hudson to complete the D-Backs team set.

eBay Pick-Up: 2010 Tribute Justin Upton dual Jersey/Auto

I picked up this 2010 Topps Tribute Justin Upton dual Jersey/Auto card numbered 14/75 off eBay about a week ago and got it in the mail last week. I paid $22 shipped for it and am really happy with it!

Cards from Baseball Dad

A while back Jack, a.k.a. Baseball Dad, of the blog ALL TRIBE BASEBALL, contacted me to let me know he was setting aside a 2012 Topps Opening Day blue parallel card of Stephen Drew numbered to 2012 for me as a thank you for reading his blog and participating in a contest that he had. I got his package yesterday and he did not disappoint. Thanks Baseball Dad!

He sent me the Stephen Drew card and a 2011 Topps Sparkle parallel of Micah Owings.

2010 Upper Deck Box Break Recap Video

If you read my post a couple of days ago about my wife spilling water on some of my cards then you know I had promised her I would get some cards to replace those that were damaged. I stopped by my LCS on the way home from work today and picked up a box of 2010 Upper Deck. It was only $39 and I thought it would be fun to open a box. I actually beat the odds and pulled a really sweet card that fits my collection perfectly. Check out my recap video.

eBay Pick-Up: Roberto Clemente Bat Card

Let me start off by saying thank you for all the kind comments on my post yesterday. I shared them with my wife and it made her feel a little bit better about what happened. I still haven't decided what I'm going to get yet, but she still says she wants me to get something, so I guess I will.

I picked up this Roberto Clemente bat card for my 3000 Hit Club Bat Card Collection. It's a 2005 Donruss Signature Series Bat card. I paid $15.49 shipped for this card, which I think is a great deal. This gives me 14 bat cards out of the 28 total 3000 hit club members, so I'm halfway there. You can see my progress here.
