Hall of Fame Rookie Card: Orlando Cepeda
Last weekend I went to two different card shops. My purchases consisted of mostly bargain bin cards, although I feel like I got some great cards. I did however, make one substantial purchase. It was this 1958 Topps Orlando Cepeda rookie card that I bought for $10.
Hall of Fame rookie card from the 1950's for just $10? Yes, please. Do I mind that it has a crease? Nope. I'm really happy to add this card to my collection at this price.
The crease is right where the price tag is and goes all the way across the card. In the case, it's actually not that noticeable. The color on this particular card is fantastic and the centering isn't all that bad.
To be honest, I might already have this card. I'm not sure, but at just $10, regardless of the crease, I had to grab it.
This card also works for my Rookie Card of players that won the Rookie of the Year Award, as Cepeda was the 1958 National League Rookie of the Year. The 11 time all-star was also the 1967 NL MVP. He was voted into the Hall of Fame by the Veteran's Committee in 1999.

How many make the Hall of Fame? 2012 Topps Chrome
Last Saturday I went to a couple of cards shops. I already showed off my purchases from on of the shops, but today let's look at some of the cards from the other shop. I found a 3000 count box on their 15/$1 shelves that was filled with 2012 Topps Chrome baseball.
I picked out these 18 cards for a couple of sample pages. Lots of big names. Some have already retired with a couple already elected to the Hall of Fame, but most are still playing. It will be interesting to see in the end, how many of these 18 end up in the Hall of Fame.
My guess is that just under half of these 18 will end up into the Hall of Fame. With 2 already in, that means I think just 6 of the remaining 16 will end up in the Hall. Of those not in yet I think Ortiz, Cabrera, Verlander, Greinke, Sabathia, and Rodriguez will eventually get in. Not sure how long it will take some of them, cough...cough, Rodriguez...cough, to get in, but those are my picks.
Agree or diaagree? Let me know who you think makes it into the Hall of Fame?

FB FInd - 2020 Topps 1985 Topps Baseball
Yesterday I showed a 2020 Topps 1985 Topps Baseball card of Shohei Ohtani that I picked up for a quarter at the card shop this past weekend. I grabbed it because I knew I had a stack of these cards from the cards I got from Facebook recently.
Here is a visual of what I was talking about. There were 129 of these cards. The problem that between Series I , II and Update, there are 250 of these cards. These are all from Series II and Update. There were also some duplicates, so I need 55 out of the 150 from Series II and the Update series.
