September 8, 1998

On September 8, 1998 Mark McGwire hit his 62nd home run of the season to break the previous record of 61 held by Roger Maris.

I remember I was at the Diamondbacks game watching batting practice when it happened. They showed each of McGwire's at-bats on the scoreboard. Everyone cheered as the ball cleared the fence.

  1. I was eating some pizza from Pizza Hut. Not as fun as where you were but it's definitely one of those moments you remember where you were and what you were doing when it happened.
