Trade with Lifetime Topps Project

Charlie, of the blog Lifetime Topps Project, contacted me about having some Topps cards I needed for my Topps D-Backs sets. I really want to complete these this year, so I was excited for the help! Thanks Charlie!

Charlie did not disappoint! He sent 14 cards I needed!

2 from 1998

2 from 1999

1 from 2000

4 from 2001

4 from 2013

1 from 2014

Charlie sent me one additional D-Back. Here's a great looking card of Tony Pena, even if Tony looks a little disinterested.

Charlie sent me some great cards for my mini PC's.

Here are three "stretching" cards. Love how the three are all different.

Check out the star power of these "broken bats". 14 All-Star appearances between them.

Pete kinda looks like a caveman, but he is carrying "multiple bats".

Finally, a card for my Cards Featuring Awards collection. I had a hot dog eating contest once with some co-workers at a D-Backs game. They have an all-you-can-eat section and we were there for a team builder. I ate 9 hot dogs, but lost. The winner ate 10. I wasn't full, just couldn't eat any more hot dogs.

Awards and Multiple Bats

I recently went through a 5000 count box that I had organized cards alphabetically in at some point. I found one card for my Cards featuring Awards collection and 3 card for my Multiple Bats collection. If you have any such cards let me know and we can work out a trade if I don't already have it. Thanks!

A trade with one of my sons

Last weekend I took my sons to a card show and one of them purchased a grab bag. It turned out to be a decent mixture of newer and older cards with a few star players and Hall of Famers mixed in. Not bad for a buck. There was one card in the grab bag that I wanted and so I traded my son for it. I let him pick out a Diamondbacks cards. The card I got is below and it fits my Cards of Players Holding Multiple Bats Collection.

49 down, 1 to go! Thanks Joe!

The thoughtfulness and generosity of the bloggers out there never ceases to amaze me. Joe, of the blog The Sandlot, commented on one of my post about my Multiple Bat collection that he had picked up a card for me off eBay that he thought I would like. I got his package today and found inside, an awesome Ernie banks card that I had never seen before. It is a 1977 TCMA card that features the Cubs slugger holding what appears to me to be 7 baseball bats! This is my 49th multiple bat card since I started officially collecting them at the beginning of this year. I only need 1 more to reach my goal of 50. Thanks Joe! I know you said not to worry about sending anything back in return, but you can expect a little something from me in return for your thoughtfulness!

As if the Banks Multiple Bat card wasn't enough, Joe added a few D-Backs for my collection!

Card Show Purchases Part 4: Multiple Bats Collection

I came across this 1991 Line Drive Reggie Sanders Minor League card in the 5 for $1 box and picked it up to add to my Multiple Bats Collection. This card puts me at 48 cards on my way to my 2010 goal of 50 Multiple Bat cards. Only 2 more to go! That concludes my card show purchases. I got 25 cards and spent a total of $5.

The Sandlot was an awesome movie and is an awesome blog!

Joe, of the blog, The Sandlot, contacted me after reading one of my posts and initiated a trade. I got his half of the deal yesterday. He sent me two Brandon Webb cards that I needed (puts me at 163 different Webb cards) and a couple of multiple bat cards for my collection. Thanks Joe!

2000 Ultra Brad Fullmer - I actually already have this awesome multiple bat cards. It was one of the cards that inspired me to start collecting multiple bat cards

1999 Upper Deck Ron Gant - Ever since I have started my multiple bat collection I have been somewhat torn by which cards I should actually include. I think that I have decided that the player must actually have the bats in their hands for it to be included, so while this card does show multiple bats, it won't make my collection because Mr. Gant has them in a bag and is not holding them or carrying them in his hands.

Duke Snider - Multiple Bat Card

In my goal to collect 50 cards of players holding multiple bats I have come across some great looking cards. This 1997 Kenner card of Duke Snider is no exception and is number 42 out of 50 in my quest. This card accompanied a Starting Lineup figure and showcases the Duke holding 12 bats!

I found this 1999 Bowman Adam Dunn Rookie Card the other day while going through some of my cards. It's always nice to add a card to my Multiple Bats collection!
