I like big gloves, and I cannot lie...

I wasn't buying packs in 1986. I didn't buy my first pack until 1988.

I can't imagine what my reaction would have been if I had pulled this card as a kid.

For those of you that were buying packs at the time, do you remember this card?

What was your reaction? How about now? Like it? Love it? Hate it?

  1. I pulled this card from a pack in 1986... I was 20 years old, loved it then, love it now. Cards like this are why Fleer became a favorite for me for much of the 1980's.

    1. That's awesome! I think Fleer took some chances back in the mid 80's, going against the grain of just the typical posed shots or run of the mill action shots. Not a ton, just one or two per set typically, but it was just something so different that they really stand out.

  2. I didn't buy packs back then, but I would have loved it. In fact, I have a small collection of cardboard oddities, and this one would surely qualify!

  4. I remember pulling this and loving it. I bought so much 86 Fleer, my grocery store had cello packs that were always on sale. I learned the order of the cards based on what card was on the front and was looking for Canseco rookies. I believe I have 3 complete sets and tons of dups. Fun set.

  5. I've always wondered about the glove itself. Leather? Pleather? Is there a Lefty glove?

  6. I'd say there's a 50% chance I pulled this card from a pack back in the day. Unfortunately... I can't remember my reaction. But there's a better than 50% chance that I just passed it up in hopes of pulling the famous Eric Plunk rookie card.
