It's Super Bowl Sunday! Let's talk some football.

Today is Super Bowl Sunday. Am I allowed to say that? Do I have to refer to it as "the Big Game in Houston" or "Super Sunday" or something like that? Sorry, NFL. I'm going to call it the Super Bowl.

A couple quick questions.

1) Who are you rooting for to win the Super Bowl?

2) Who do you think will win the Super Bowl?

I'm not really rooting for either team. If I was putting money the game, it would be on the Patriots.

Answer my two questions above before kickoff and I'll give you 10 It's like having my own Card Shop Loyalty Points. If who you predict will win, does win, then I'll give you an extra 25 points. But just remember, you have to comment before the opening kickoff.

Around here in Cardinals Country, there has been one story bigger than the Super Bowl.

Larry Fitzgerald.

Would he retire or would he be back for another season? There was even talk early on of him leaving AZ for another team.

After much speculation, the recently crowned Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, Larry Fitzgerald made it official earlier this week announcing that he would return.

In December I got a sweet package from fellow YouTuber Nathaniel Go. He sent a ton of great cards but right now I just wanted to show off the plethora of Fitz cards that he sent me.

With Fitzgerald confirming his return, you might think that the focus here in Arizona switch to the Super Bowl, but you'd be wrong. Now the focus is on whether or not Carson Palmer will return as well.

These Palmer cards are also courtesy of Nathaniel Go.

How about you? Any sports story where you live bigger than the Super Bowl right now?

  2. That's quite an honor for Fitzgerald. Anything with Walter Payton's name attached to it is pretty special.
I heard that Carson Palmer pulled his kids out of school and sold his home in AZ... that doesn't sound like he's intent on returning.
I'm rooting for the Falcons and think they will win. Julio Jones is a beast and probably the most talented skills player on either team outside of the QBs. I think he and the fact the game is played on turf tilts it in the Falcons favor.

    1. Palmer came out a day or so after the reports about his house and kids and said that he hasn't sold his house and they took his kids out of school for a "family adventure". Julio Jones is a beast. He's so good that there is always another receiver open because they have to double team him. Crazy game!

  3. I can't stand the Patriots, so I'm rooting for Atlanta. And I'll be bold and predict a Falcons victory.

Fitz is one of my favorite receivers. HOF talent but also a good guy. I'm happy he's coming back for another year.

    2. I was actually thinking that they cost me 25 loyalty points. It wasn't my first thought, but it crossed my mind after a while :/

  4. Nothing against the Patriots, but I always like it when a new team wins. So I'll be rooting for the Falcons.

I think the Patriots will win, though, and I don't think it will be close. Top-scoring defense vs. top-scoring offense usually turns out that way in the Super Bowl. Blowout for the top-scoring defense.

Let's hope I'm wrong and we have a good game!

  5. Patriots and Patriots to answer your question. But only because I grew up in New England as a Pats fan. If the Falcons won I wouldn't be too sad.

    1. Congrats to the Patriots! The greatest comeback in Super Bowl history. The only OT game in Super bowl history. Amazing!

  6. I know it's too late to receive points, but here is what I would have answered
    Rooting for Falcons
    Thinking Pats would win

Big story on NJ/PA border is Matt Ryan who grew up only about an hour from me.

    1. I'm still giving you the 35 points, because it's my loyalty program and it was a heck of a game. Plus you posted early on in the game.

  7. Glad to hear that Fitz is return to the Cardinals. As for the game, I thought the Patriots would win... but obviously not the same way it played out. That game was crazy. Congratulations Patriots fans. Brady officially has my vote for greatest QB of all-time.
