The cards actually came yesterday but I thought I'd make a quick video in my Halloween costume. Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!

TTM Sucess: Shawon Dunston (First Night Game at Wrigley Field Success)

Shawon Dunston was actually the first person that I sent the First Night Game at Wrigley Field card to back on July 14th. I started worrying that I wasn't going to get it back from him, but after 3 months I got back the 3 cards that I sent him, including the card for my First Night Game at Wrigley Field Project. I now have 8 of the 16 players from the Cubs team that played in that game. I'm half way there!

eBay Pick-Ups: Atomic and Superfractor

My oldest son's favorite player is Miguel Montero. Two years ago Montero threw him a ball after warming up in the outfield before a game and Montero has been his favorite player ever since. I decided to try to get a 2013 Topps Chrome Miguel Montero Rainbow for him for Christmas and so I started picking up the various versions on eBay. I've gotten several in, have several more on their way, still need a few, but today I got two big ones in the mail.

I got the Atomic Refractor numbered 08/10.

I also picked up the Superfractor 1/1.

Like I said, I still need a few of the parallels. The only one I'm a little worried about is the Pink version numbered to 5. I haven't seen one come up yet at all. if you happen to have one please let me know. Thanks!

eBay Pick-Up: Printing Plate

I picked up this 2013 Topps Update Ryan Roberts Yellow Printing Plate off eBay on Thursday and had it in my mailbox on Friday. I bought it at like 5:30 am and the seller lives about 20 minutes from me, but I still thought it was cool that I got it the very next day.

I have a very nice Ryan Roberts collection, but it's mostly with him as a Diamondback. I have most of his Blue Jays cards, but that's because there are only a handful. Since signing with the Rays he's only had a couple of cards; 2012 Topps Update and some Panini cards. When I saw this Printing Plate I hesitated a little bit. Should I just focus on his cards as a Diamondback? The card was listed for a little more than I would have liked, but it was a Buy-It-Now and in the end I didn't want to miss out and have someone else buy it. So now it's mine. This is my 9th Ryan Roberts Printing Plate.

eBay Pick-Up: 2013 Allen & Ginter Tyler Skaggs Rip Card

I picked up this 2013 Allen & Ginter Rip Card of Tyler Skaggs for $3.79 shipped off eBay recently. As you can see, it was already ripped, but it's still numbered out of 50. For the price, I couldn't pass it up.

Catching Up

I've been getting some good stuff in from eBay recently, like for instance today I got 4 packages in the mail. 3 of them were 1 of 1's. I'm anxious to show off what I've gotten but I've got scans of cards that I've been sitting on for a while so I want to post those first.

First up is this 2009 Topps Heritage Gerardo Parra rookie card that I got signed at the last D-Backs game that I went to. It was the same game that I got to meet Augie Ojeda and Doug Davis. That was back in September, so I'm glad to finally post this one.

Next up are some dime pick-ups from a card show I went to a few weekends ago. Nothing big. For some reason I like cards featuring Presidents of the United States. I also got a card for my Multiple Bat Collection and one for my Cards featuring Awards Collection. There are a couple of other random cards and then a Ryan Roberts card that I needed.

Last but not least is a lot of Paul Goldschmidt cards that I picked up off eBay about a month ago.

eBay Pick-Up: 10 Card Game-Used and Autograph Lot

I picked up this 10 card game-used and autograph lot off eBay a while back and realized I never posted about it. I paid about $3 per card, which I though was a steal considering the last card.

1999 Sports Illustrated Great of the Game Bob Gibson Auto

Many of you are probably familiar with Rackrs.com as a site that sells various cards for autographs. Well they recently started selling certified autographed cards on their site. I picked up this 1999 Sports Illustrated Great of the Game Bob Gibson Autographed card for $5 plus $0.75 for shipping. $5.75 for a certified autograph of a Hall of Famer is a great deal in my book.

Trade with Night Owl

I got a trade package from Night Owl yesterday. The best thing about Night Owl is that he's a Dodgers fan, so he undervalues Diamondbacks cards and I make out like a bandit in all of of trades. Here's a sampling of what he sent me.

First up are a couple of Paul Goldschmidt cards. Goldschmidt had a monster year. The 2013 All-Star led the National League in Home Runs, RBI, Slugging %, OPS, OPS+, Total Bases, and Intentional Walks.

Next up are a bunch of different 2013 Topps parallels.

Finally, probably my favorite card from Night Owl was this 2001 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor of Matt Mantei. I wasn't collecting in 2001, so I'm not that familiar with the Chrome set from that year and actually had no idea that there were Gold Refractors. This card looks amazing in person!

4 Baseball Cards from an Antique Mall

Last week end, maybe the weekend before that, I can't remember, I went to an Antique Mall called The Brass Armadillo. The way it's set up is that different sellers have booths and they sell all sorts of antiques and collectibles. They were celebrating their 15th anniversary and so everything was 15% off. I waled around for about 30 minutes and came away with 4 cards. Two Brandon Webb cards that I needed, a Paul Goldschmidt and a 1997 Bowman Travis Lee parallel. The Webb cards were $0.99 each and the other two were $1 each, so after the 15% off they each cost about $0.85.

eBay Pick-Up: 2013 Topps Tier One Adam Eaton Autograph x2

I picked this 2 card lot up off eBay recently. I was able to get them using a Best Offer of $7.95 shipped. At just under $4 per card I'm very happy with this purchase. Adam "Spanky" Eaton is a fun player to watch because of how he plays the game. You can tell he's really enjoying himself out on the ball field.
