Unexpected Cards from Night Owl

Night Owl, seems to always pull nice D-Backs cards. I'm sure that is insanely frustrating for a devout Dodger fan, but I love it, because we trade D-Backs for Dodgers on a regular basis. Today I got an unexpected package of D-Backs from Night Owl. let's see what he sent me. Thanks Night Owl! I'll get some Dodgers in the mail for you shortly!

2011 Bowman Gold Parallel and Base of slugger Justin Upton

2010 Bowman Gold Parallel and Base Rookie Cards of Daniel Hudson - Hudson had an amazing rookie year last season but has started off a little slow this season. He is currently 6-5, but his 6 wins have come in his last 7 starts, so he appears to be heating up. Let's hope he can continue.

2011 Bowman Chrome Purple Refractor of Thomas Layne numbered 068/700 and 2010 Bowman Chrome Refractor Rookie Card of John Hester

2005 UD Pros & Prospects Tier 1 Parallel of Koyie Hill numbered 679/999 - This card is frustrating for both Night Owl and myself because Koyie is wearing a Dodgers jersey, but it lists him as a Diamondback.

2008 UD Timeline Chris Young - Young is having another solid season at the plate and in the field.

1991 Upper Deck Final Ryan Klesko - A sweet looking card for my Multiple Bats collection!

Trivia Time

Only six players in Major League History have homered in at least 40 different ballparks. Who are they?

I'll give a couple of hints.

1) None of them are in the Hall of Fame
2) Everyone on the list has over 350 home runs

The first person to respond with all six players will get a card of each player.

25 down, 0 to go...wait, that means I'm finished!

It took me well over a year to complete this, but it was worth it! I now have a bat card of every member of the 500 Home Run Club. Here they are.

My 500 Home Run Club Bat Card Collection is complete!

I picked this 2001 Upper Deck Hall of Famers JIMMIE FOXX Game Bat card up this past week on eBay. It is the last card that I needed for my 500 Home Run Club Bat Collection. After getting the a Babe Ruth bat card several months ago, I put this aspect of my collection on hold in order to save money for an All-Star ticket. I was able to get my ticket strip and still had some money left over in my PayPal account, so I put a bid in on this card and won it for $24.99 shipped, a good price considering that I had almost bought it for $39.99 shipped several times before. My next post will be my 500 Home Run Club Bat Card Collection. You will see that I favor the 2001 Upper Deck Hall of Famers Game Bat cards and that's one of the reasons why I wanted this particular card. For some reason I prefer horizontal cards. I like the fact that he is batting in the picture and the piece of bat is a decent size.

I'm going to the 2011 MLB All-Star Game

The 1996 Pinnacle Aficionado First Pitch Preview Kirby Puckett card I had put up for auction on eBay ended yesterday. I was extremly excited to see it sell for $255.00. That gave me enough cash to buy a 2011 MLB All-Star Game ticket strip. The ticket strip includes a All-Star Game Program, 2 tickets to Fan Fest, a ticket to the Celebrity Softball Game, the Futures All-Star Game, the Home Run Derby, and the All-Star Game. I can't wait!

Baseball cards from Dave and Buster's

This past Saturday we celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday at Dave and Buster's. For those of you not familiar with Dave and Buster's, it's a video arcade for grown-ups. You can earn tickets and redeem for prizes. One of the prizes I got was a World's Greatest Card Chase pack, which included 3 packs and 1 autographed card. Unfortunately I didn't get the 1933 Goudey Ruth or the Mickey Mantle bat piece advertised on the packaging, but I wasn't expecting either of them,so that's okay.

I got a pack of 2008 Upper Deck First Edition and got this A-Rod Starquest card.

In a pack of 2009 Tristar Obak, I got this Steve Dalkowski mini. I picked this card because it's a mini and on the back it said that Dalkowski threw 110 mph.

My third and final pack was 2008 Tristar Prospects Plus. I didn't get anyone that I had heard of, so I picked this card of Evan Fredrickson because he was the highest draft pick out of all the cards in the pack.

My autograph was 2009 Tristar Obak Lonnie Chisenhall auto.

2002 Topps Tribute

I recently came across a small stack of 2002 Topps Tribute cards. I must have bought a few packs back when they first came out. The relic cards were nowhere to be seen, just the base cards. But they are some pretty nice looking cards of some of the games greatest players. Thought I would show them off.
