1993 Fleer Pro Visions

I picked up the 1993 Fleer Pro Visions set at my LCS recently for $5. I showed off the 1991 Fleer Pro Visions set that I completed last month. In 1992 Fleer included Pro Visions as a subset and not an insert. In 1993 it was back as an insert, with three cards in Series I and another three inserted into Series II. The 1991 and 1992 versions are fairly common and I seem to see the 1994 and 1995 Pro Visions inserts quite a bit, but the 1993 insert set has eluded me over the years, so I was really happy to pick up this set.

1993 Fleer Pro Visions Series I

Roberto Alomar - Second to None

Dennis Eckersley - Simply Eckcellent

Gary Sheffield - Thunderbolt

1993 Fleer Pro Visions Series II

Andy Van Slyke - The Complete Player

Tom Glavine - Just Say Wins

Prince Fielder - No Respect

$2 well spent, I think? (Plus a CONTEST reminder)

I picked up this 2011 Topps GARY CARTER Topps 60 Memorabilia Card at my local card shop last week for $2. I saw the price tag and couldn't say no. I could buy one 2011 Topps pack and risk not get anything good or, for the same price I could get a bat card of Hall of Famer Gary Carter. On the front of the card, under the bat piece it says "GAME-USED MEMORABILIA". On the back it says "You have recieved a certified TOPPS 60 MEMORABILIA CARD from 2011 Topps Baseball Series 1". In really small print under that it says "The relic on this card is not from any specific game, event, or season." My question is, was the relic from a specific player, namely Gary Carter? What happened to the good old days when on the back of the relic card it would state something similar to "The enclosed piece of bat is certified to have been used by XYZ player in an official Major League game."?

Also, just another reminder about my contest. The clues that I have given narrowed down the number to between 1001 and 2000. If you haven't already entered the contest today, then be sure to enter by clicking on the ad below this post and guessing a number between 1001 and 2000. Box Break - 2009 Bowman Chrome

I mentioned in an earlier post that I had recieved a box of 2009 Bowman Chrome from my wife as a graduation gift. I have a great wife! Due to the nature of the card, most of them do not scan very well. Here are a few of the cards that I got.

Prince Fielder - Base cards do not scan well, but I liked the behind the batting practice net shot.

Gordon Beckham RC

My only 2 D-Backs cards in the whole box, Kecin Eichhorn and...

...Isaias Asencio

Here are a couple of the World baseball Classic cards. No action shots, all poses.

Mosies Sierra Orange Refractor numbered 01/25

Ryan Zimmerman Refractor numbered 144/250

My guaranteed auto - Matt Miller
