A question about 1975 Topps

I was surprised to see that in 1975 for $0.40 and 1 wrapper you could send away for all 24 Team Checklist Cards. I had no idea they did that. Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. Anyone out there every remember sending in 40 cents and a wrapper for the team cards? Did they do this multiple years? if so, when did they stop? I'm guessing that the team cards could be found in packs as well, so why did they do this? Anyone out there have any answers?

Super Bowl Sunday

Hope everyone out there is having a great Super Bowl Sunday. I'm looking forward to having some people over to watch the game on our new tv (our old tv started getting dark and so we bought a new one last weekend)! I'm not rooting for one team over another, I'm just hoping for a great game. I am rooting for a "heads" coin toss, so that I get some free Papa Johns pizza though. I will make a prediction though, just for the fun of it. Giants 24 - Patriots 21. Eli Manning as the MVP.

Card Shop Pick-Up: 1975 Topps A's lot (Trade Bait)

I went to an auction today at a card shop in Phoenix. I picked up a nine card lot of 1975 Topps Oakland A's cards. The price was right and I thought I might be able to get something nice for them, so let me know if you're interested in trading for any or all of these. Condition is not great, but it's not horrible either. The other cards I got that are not shown below are Jesus Alou, Glenn Abbott, and Pat Bourque.

Trade with The Diamond King

I contacted Kevin, of the blog The Diamond King, about a trade a week or so ago and we quickly arranged a swap. I sent him some refractors and he sent me some D-Backs. Here are a few of my favorites. 2012 Topps

I bought a blaster of 2012 Topps today. I pulled a nice manufactured patch card. It is the Historical Stitches version of Sandy Koufax.

On Sunday afternoon I finally, after having a blog for 2+ years, got around to posting a Want List. Less than an hour later Tom, of the blog angelsinorder, contacted me and let me know that he would be able to knock 9 cards off my Want List for my 2011 Topps Arizona Diamondbacks set.
