2009 Topps Updates & Highlights is now COMPLETED

In today's mail I recieved a small white envelope from David of the blog 2008 Allen & Ginter Card-scape. In it was just one card from the 2009 Topps Updates & Highlights set. Card #UH146. This is the last card I needed to complete my set. Now I know that completing a 330 card set from the current year (I guess technically last year) is not that big of a deal, but to me it is. I haven't completed a set in years. I really enjoyed this set and want to thank everyone who helped out by sending me cards to complete it and a special thanks to David for sending me the final card that I needed!

And Then There Was One

Yesterday's mail contained an package from David of the blog 2008 Allen & Ginter Card-scape . The package contained 7 cards that I needed for my 2009 Topps Updates & Highlights set. Now I only need 1 more card to complete my set. Card # 146. However, David emailed me to tell me that these cards were on their way and I responded by saying that I would now only need 1 card to complete the set. He asked which one and I told him. He then emailed back and said that he has it and that he would be sending it soon. Thanks David! Can't wait to finish this set. The names don't show up with my scanner because they are foil but take a look at the cards that David sent. My favorite is the one at the bottom, the Adam Jones All-Star card. I'll save my reason for a different post, but if you are real curious, email me and I will tell you why.

I'm trying to complete the 2009 Topps Updates & Highlights set, and today I got a package in the mail from fellow 2009 Topps Updates & Highlights set collector, Jeremy of the blog no one's going to read this blog. Jeremy and I arranged to help each other out on this set. He sent me 8 cards that I needed plus a bunch of D-Backs cards (Schlereth Auto!) and I sent him a couple of cards he needed plus some Turkey Red and Propeganda insert cards. 2009 Topps Updates & Highlights Career Quest Autograph of Daniel Schlereth - It's always sad to see a young promising arm leave your favorite team, but I wish Mr. Schlereth much success in Detroit. I had been wanting to get a Schlereth auto for a while and then Jermey offered this as part of the trade. Thanks again Jeremy!

An Unexpected Jumbo Pack

Every once in a while my wife will surprize me with something baseball card related. When I got home from work on Thursday, she surprized me with a 2009 Topps Updates & Highlights Jumbo pack. She knows I am trying to complete this set and because of the pack, I am now 3 cards closer to finishing it. Here are a 3 out of the 4 inserts that I got (not scanning the Topps Town Dan Uggla card). Unexpected Baseball Cards

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was fantastic! We had dinner at my Mother-in-law's house and then we went to my parents house for dessert. When we got to my parents house I noticed that they had decorations up. Upon further inspection, I noticed that they were baseball decorations. When we walked into the family room, everyone yelled congratulations! I finished my MBA last week, and my wife and family had planned a little something to celebrate as a surprise. There was a sign that read, Try to stump the Baseball MASTER. (MASTER, because I now have a Master's Degree.) They put together some baseball trivia and it was me against everyone else, first to 10 points won. I, of course won, and my prize was a 2009 Topps Updates & Highlights rack pack, 5 retail 2009 Topps Updates & Highlights packs, a 2009 Upper Deck Series 1 pack, and a 2009 Bowman Chrome hobby box. Geat prizes! It's late so I am only going to post the results of the packs. I will try to post the box break tomorrow. Here goes.
