3000 Hit Club Bat Card Collection: Ty Cobb

One of my 2012 Card Collecting Goals is to get a bat card from all 27 members of the 3000 Hit Club. I completed a similar project last year with my 500 Home Run Club Bat Collection. Several members of the 500 Home Run Club are also members of the 3000 Hit Club, so I already have bat cards of Aaron, Mays, Murray, and Palmeiro. In addition, I already have a bat card of Ty Cobb, so that means I only need 22 more to finish my 3000 Hit Club Bat Card Collection. I wanted to feature the Cobb bat card seperatly because I don't think I've ever done so on my blog. I picked this up at a live auction about 10 years ago. I think I paid $75 for it. It's a 2001 Upeer Deck Sweet Spot Game-Used Bat Card.

New Years Stocking Loot: Part 1

I mentioned in a previous post how I have a family tradition where if you take good care of the presents that you got on Christmas, Santa comes back on New Years Eve and fills your stocking again. Santa was busy this year so I helped him out by picking up some cards on eBay. While they weren't here on New Years Day I'm starting to get the in the mail. Here is one of the cards I got. It's a 2011 Topps Marquee JUSTIN UPTON Titantic Threads Jersey card serial numbered 90/99. I picked this up for $7.25 shipped, which I think is a pretty good price considering the cost of a box of Marquee and the fact that it is serial numbered to 99.

Trade with Night Owl

Greg, a.k.a. Night Owl, and I have traded Dodgers and D-Backs back and forth multiple times. This time I had a Chrome Kershaw that he needed and he sent me a nice healthy stack of D-Backs cards. Thanks Greg! Here are my two favorites.

2002 Donruss Classics LUIS GONZALEZ - This card is going to look great signed. Gonzo is a great ttm signer, so I hope to get this autographed soon.

2011 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball Highlight Sketches EDWIN JACKSON - I have been wanting this card for a while now and so it was awesome to see it in the stack that Night Owl sent. I bought tickets from this game on eBay hoping to get them signed - this was before Edwin was traded, but this card will go nicely with those tickets. 

eBay Pick-Up: Red, White, and Upton

I picked up these two 2010 Upper Deck JUSTIN UPTON Game Jersey cards on eBay a week or so ago from the same seller. I used the eBay gift card that I had gotten from my brother-in-law for Christmas. I spent $6.13 total for both cards including shipping, so just over $3.00 apeice.

eBay Pick-Ups: A Pair of Printing Plates

I had posted the contents of a few 2011 Topps Chrome packs for trade that I had gotten through a Secret Santa gift exchange at work and Kyle of Juuust a bit outside contacted me and we worked out a trade.
