Do you think cards will ever come in cereal again?

Yesterday I went to a card show and a card shop. I bought 936 cards. 792 of them came in the form of a 1991 Topps factory set.

Here are 26 more.

I know you can't see all 26, but there are 13 packs of 2002 Topps Post cards and each pack has two cards. Any idea why they have the round sticker on them?

I got the 13 packs for $2. After busting the packs and sorting them I have 17/30 with 9 doubles.

Baseball cards from Dave and Buster's

This past Saturday we celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday at Dave and Buster's. For those of you not familiar with Dave and Buster's, it's a video arcade for grown-ups. You can earn tickets and redeem for prizes. One of the prizes I got was a World's Greatest Card Chase pack, which included 3 packs and 1 autographed card. Unfortunately I didn't get the 1933 Goudey Ruth or the Mickey Mantle bat piece advertised on the packaging, but I wasn't expecting either of them,so that's okay.

I got a pack of 2008 Upper Deck First Edition and got this A-Rod Starquest card.

In a pack of 2009 Tristar Obak, I got this Steve Dalkowski mini. I picked this card because it's a mini and on the back it said that Dalkowski threw 110 mph.

My third and final pack was 2008 Tristar Prospects Plus. I didn't get anyone that I had heard of, so I picked this card of Evan Fredrickson because he was the highest draft pick out of all the cards in the pack.

My autograph was 2009 Tristar Obak Lonnie Chisenhall auto.

New additions to my 500 Home Run Club Bat Collection (Ruth and A-Rod)

Here are a couple of eBay purchases that I made last week, that I got in the mail yesterday. By adding these two, I now only need a Jimmie Foxx Bat Card to complete my 500 Home Run Club Bat Card Collection. The Ruth is the card that I posted about last week, saying that I had spent more on this single card than any other card since getting married almost 7 years ago. I had to put a bunch of cards up on eBay to please the wife. Okay, she wasn't really pleased, but at least she didn't kill me. I'm really happy about the Ruth card because it's the card that I wanted for this collection and I think that I got it for a great price. Now only one more to go.

Pack Breaks: 2005 UD All-Star Classics

I picked up 2 packs of 2005 UD All-Star Classics last week at Target when I got my 2010 Allen & Ginter Balster. I was not familiar with the UD All-Star Classics brand and so for $1.59 a pack, I picked up a couple of packs. I was actually pleasently surprised by what I got. The base set is broken down into 3 categories: regular base cards, All-Star Futures and Legendary All-Stars so there is a nice mix of players. Here is what I got.

Pack #2 - The Midsummer Classic Griffey card is a 1:24 pack insert.

5 More Cards In My Personal Collection

I picked up these 2002 Upper Deck All-Star Home Run Derby cards a few years ago on ebay. The cards feature pieces of the jerseys that the players wore while competing in the 2001 Home Run Derby. There were more than 5 players in the 2001 Home Run Derby, but I'm pretty sure these are the only 5 players included in this set.

The day before Christmas, our door bell rang and when we opened it we saw a pile of presents. Their was one for my wife and both of my boys, as well as one for me. Mine was two blasters. A 2009 Topps Ticket to Stardom and a 2008 Upper Deck Series 2 blaster. We have a pretty good idea of who our Secret Santa is, but know one will confess. So...thanks to whoever it was! 2007 Topps Co-Signers on the Trading Block (no autos)

A few years ago I purchased a hobby box of 2007 Topps Co-Signers. The auto are long gone, but I still have the base cards and some other inserts if anyone is interested. The base set is 100 cards. These are some sort of numbered parallel cards. The Miller is numbered 003/275 on the back. The Baker is numbered 165/225 on the back.

The Igawa is numbered 095/275 on the back. The Mussina is numbered 149/299 on the back.

These are a red parallel version and do not scan very well. The Delgado is numbered 015/199 on the back. The Peavy is numbered 005/199 on the back.

This is a blue parallel version. Again, it does not scan well. It is numbered 002/150 on the back.

The box topper was a 2 card pack featuring the Alex Rodriguez Road to 500 insert cards. I got home runs 178 and 193.
