Package from ScottyBrew13

Fellow YouTuber and D-Backs fan, ScottyBrew13, contacted me recently to see if I'd be interested in purchasing some D-Backs cards. He showed me the cards and gave me a fair price. A few days later a package arrived.

My favorite card of the bunch is this 2000 Skybox Dominion Hats Off Randy Johnson Game-Used Hat card.

Next up are a couple of Trevor Cahill Gypsy Queen cards.

This is my least favorite card of the group for obvious reasons.

Here's a Miguel Montero Gypsy Queen jersey card.

For some reason I've wanted this card for a while, so it was nice to have it be part of the group. It's from 2009 Topps Ticket to Stardom and is numbered out of 499.

The final two cards are of Ian Patrick Kennedy.

PWE from GCRL

On Friday I got a PWE from Jim, of the blog GCRL. Jim packed 11 awesome cards into one envelope! Thanks Jim!

This Paul Goldschmidt New Age Performers insert is sweet! Very happy to add this to my collection!

Jim knows I collect Mike Piazza and he sent me three Piazza cards for my collection! Each one is awesome! I love all the cards from the 1990's and early 2000's.

Speaking of great cards from the 90's and early 2000's.

Sometimes I forget that Shawn Green was even on the Diamondbacks. Grateful for these cards as a reminder.

Here are few other former D-Backs. I used to love it when Brandon Lyon would come in to pitch because they would play a lion's roar at Chase Field.

How is Chris Young still in the majors? He had one good year. 2007, his first full season in the big leagues. And when I say he had a good year... I mean he hit 32 home runs. He batted .237 that season. The highest his batting average has ever been, in any season is .257. He's currently batting .202 for the Mets.

I always liked Reynolds, but he sure does strike out a lot. I mentioned it in my Tribute to Gwynn post, but Reynolds struck out 434 times between 2009 -10, that is the same amount of times that Tony Gwynn struck out in his entire 20 year career.

Does this smile remind anyone else of the Joker?

And finally, Conor Jackson. I always liked Jackson and felt really bad about what happened to him. He got Valley Fever and was never the same. On April 18, 2008 against the Padres, Jackson hit a home run, triple and single in his first 3 at-bats. Facing Greg Maddux in his last at-bat, Jackson hit a ball to deep center field and instead of stopping at 2nd for the cycle, he continued on to 3rd ending the game with a home run, two triples, and a single.

TTM Success - Conor Jackson

I sent this 2009 Allen & Ginter card to Conor Jackson on 8/4/09 and recieved it back, signed, on 1/28/10. It took almost 6 months, but it was worth the wait. I'm excited that the D-Backs re-signed Conor and wish him the best in 2010! Thanks Conor!

De partout...jusqu'a vous

"De partout...jusqu'a vous" is French for "From anywhere...to anyone". I got a package today in the mail from Brian of the blog, Waxaholic. Since Brian is from Calgary, Alberta Canada it said "De partout...jusqu'a vous" on the postmark. I opened the package and first pulled out this note:

"Thanks for the Reggie's" Oh yeah, a while back I offered up a 3 card Upper Deck Reggie Jackson card set to anyone interested. The cards came with "Reggie Bar" candy bars sold in 1993 to commemorate Reggie Jackson getting elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Now what did he mean by "I sent you a Jackson in return." I started pulling stuff out of the package.

First up, a pack of 1990 Fleer.

Next, a pack of 1991 Donruss.

And then this, a 2008 SPx Winning Materials Conor Jackson dual jersey card. Wow! The scan does not do this card justice. I don't usually show cards to my wife but I had to show her this one and even she was impressed. When I went to scan it I noticed that it is numbered on the bottom right corner, 04/50!

I opened the packs and pulled these...

1990 Fleer Moises Alou Rookie Card

1991 Donruss Luis Gonzalez Rookie Card - Brian, you couldn't have picked a better pack to send me.

Thank you so much Brian for a great trade! The Conor Jackson is going into my Personal Collection and I love the Gonzo Rookie Card! Thanks!

Trade with On Card Autos - My largest trade ever!

Chris of the blog On Card Autos contacted me and asked if I would like to trade some D-Backs for Cubs cards. I knew Chris collects Nomar Garciaparra cards so I went through a few boxes and binders and pulled out a nice stack of Nomar cards for Chris and sent them his way. Yesterday a box arrived in the mail from Chris and it contained 260 Diamondback cards! That is by far the most cards I have ever recieved in one trade! Thanks Chris! It was hard deciding which cards I would showcase on my blog, but I think I narrowed it down. I was able to add 7 cards to my Brandon Webb collection from the cards that Chris sent, so I wanted to show those off and Chris sent me a bunch of D-Backs rookie cards, mostly from 2007 which is a year that I wasn't really collecting so they are all new to me. Thanks again Chris!
