I don't usually get jealous.

I'm not typically a jealous person when it comes to cardboard. I love seeing someone pull a great card from a pack. I enjoy seeing amazing collections of cards I will likely never be able to afford. I'm at peace with that. I enjoy giving cards away to others who will appreciate them more than I will and almost prefer that to a trade because as I mentioned in a previous post, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so most of the time I don't base cards value on Beckett prices or even eBay sales. But there is one thing that I am a little jealous of when it comes to cards. 

I was born in the 80's and grew up as the youngest of six kids in a household void of my brothers and with a father not interested in sports. We didn't have cable tv growing up so I might get to watch one MLB game each week if I was lucky. So when I read your blogs and you casually mention this stadium or that stadium in the background of cards from the 1950s, 60s, 70, and 80s, I get a little jealous.

When I posted my needs list for 1973 Topps, Jeff of the blog My Sports Obsession, reached out and offered to help me out. He sent this 9 card sheet with 7 of my 1973 needs and a couple of Southpaw mascot cards ( I collect mascot cards as well). 

I have really grown to love the 1973 set and the photography. Topps really upped their game in 1973 with action and other unique shots. For example, the Mel Stottlemyre card is just fantastic. I noticed right away that the Stottlemyre and Fisher card were snapped at the same stadium, but I'll admit, I had to do some research to realize it was Yankee Stadium. I'm not used to seeing the centerfield portion of Yankee Stadium in the background of cards. I'm more familiar with shots featuring the left or right field stands, like the Walton card.

So for all you vintage stadium buffs out there, what stadiums are featured in the Brinkman, Melton and Brown cards? I might be jealous, but I won't hold it against you.
