Denny's Baseball Cards

I'm becoming more and more enamored with the oddball sets of my youth. For several years I actively ate Grand Slams to collect cards given away at Denny's restaurants during the summer months.

Sets were issued between 1991 and 1997. I'm going to use this page to keep track of my progress.

1991 - Need 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26

1992 - Need all except 4

1993 - Need all except 7

1994 - Need all

1995 - Completed

1996 - Completed

1997 - Need 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 18, 20

  1. I have fond memories fighting with my brother over Denny's cards.

  2. I remember trying to collect the 1991 set, but I had no idea they kept the promotion going through 1997.

    1. I guess the 1991 cards you could turn in for a free meal if a player from that team hit a grand slam.

  3. Really weird that some of the best looking cards of the 1990s came from such an unusual location.

    1. I miss both Pinnacle and Upper Deck. They are some nice looking cards. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the 1991 Upper Deck hologram cards look scanned.

  4. I'm a huge fan of the 90's Denny's sets. They were released during my college years where my friends and I held late night study sessions. By the way... that Jackie Robinson is my second favorite Denny's card of all-time. My favorite? The 1994 Reggie Jackson.

    1. I saw that the Reggie Jackson was listed as SP. Quick ebay and comc search pulls up nothing. A sold search on ebay reveals a sealed set with the Jackson card that sold for over $100. Looks like only 1500 were made. Yikes!

    2. It took me awhile to find an affordable copy. Based on my post, I paid $9... but it wasn't a mint copy. I think each Denny's location was allocated one card to be given away as a prize.

    1. I knew they did them several years, but it wasn't until I started researching recently that I realized the promotion started in 1991.
